A commentator often referred to online as “China’s Nostradamus” has shared a prediction about the current conflict between the United States and Iran.

On February 28, US-backed Israeli strikes targeted several military and government locations inside Iran. Reports said the attacks killed Ali Khamenei and other senior figures.

Iran responded with missile strikes soon after, and the exchange marked the beginning of what many analysts now describe as the 2026 Iran war.

The conflict has already caused a noticeable rise in global oil prices. President Donald Trump commented on the increase and said the spike was “a small price to pay” for “safety and peace.”

With the aerial bombardment of Iran continuing and Iran responding with strikes against oil infrastructure and other targets across neighboring Gulf states, many observers say there is still no clear end in sight.

During this uncertain moment, a controversial prediction about how the war could develop has started circulating online.

Chinese-Canadian educator and presenter Professor Xueqin Jiang, who shares historical analysis on his YouTube channel Predictive History, previously published three predictions in 2024 that later gained attention among viewers.

What did Professor Xueqin Jiang predict?

Two of those predictions later appeared to come true, including his claim that Donald Trump would win the election again.

Because of this, many followers on social media began referring to him as the “Chinese Nostradamus,” a comparison to the famous French astrologer known for mysterious predictions.

One of Jiang’s earlier forecasts about global politics was: "If he [Trump] does become president in a second term, there will be a very strong likelihood that the United States will go to war with Iran."

Jiang also suggested that Israel’s security interests would be a major factor behind any potential conflict between the United States and Iran.

Operation Epic Fury is the name given to the joint US-Israeli military campaign that began on February 28, 2026. The operation targeted Iran’s missile systems, nuclear facilities, and other military infrastructure.

The Yale College graduate also made a third prediction related to the same conflict. According to his analysis, the war could eventually end badly for the United States.

While discussing possible military scenarios, Jiang said: "The third big prediction is that the United States will lose the war, which will forever change the global order."

He also added: "If this war [US-Iran] were to happen, there's absolutely no way America can win this war."

Jiang’s reasoning focuses on geography and population factors that he believes would make a long-term occupation of Iran extremely difficult.

He has explained that his thinking is based on a concept he describes as “psycho-history.” According to Jiang, the method attempts to analyze patterns in history in order to better understand the past, predict future developments, and interpret current events.

What has Professor Xueqin Jiang said in 2026?

In earlier commentary, Jiang also claimed that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps would be eager for confrontation with the United States because of what they view as American interference in Iranian affairs.

He also suggested that a conflict with Iran could become a major priority during a second Trump presidency.

Jiang said: "Basically, the United States is looking for a reason and Iran wants to give them a reason, and that's why I think war between the United States and Iran is very likely in the next two to four years."

More recently, Jiang appeared on the political news program Breaking Points with Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti, where he discussed how the situation might develop.

In footage uploaded to YouTube on March 2, he said: "Given my analysis of how the war is progressing, I think that Iran has many more advantages over the United States. The reality is, right now, it's a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and Iranians have been preparing 20 years for this conflict."

He continued by explaining that Iran had been preparing for such a confrontation for many years and said: "What the Iranians are doing is waging war against the entire global economy."

Jiang also mentioned Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the route is critical because it supplies roughly ninety percent of food imports for the GCC countries.
