The calendar turns to November and Halloween becomes a distant memory. You know what that means? Merry Christmas! That's what it means. Unless you've been under a rock I'm sure you've seen several posts on social media discussing the trend of retail stores beginning holiday season earlier and earlier each year.

Stores not only clear out any proof that Halloween took place at light speed, they also get all decorated for Christmas almost instantaneously on November 1st.

With all those decorations and deals come the horrid Christmas songs.

Two long months of nothing but terrible Christmas songs.

You should really pray for those poor retail employees that have to listen to those songs blasted in their ears endlessly until the beginning of 2018.

If you're one of those retail workers and you're already feeling like those songs are destroying your mind, you might be right.

Linda Blair, an author, and clinical psychologist said in a recent interview with Sky News that if you listen to too much Christmas music it can have a negative effect on your mental state. A store playing the same holiday songs repeatedly for 2 months can be very bad for your mental health.

Blair said in the interview: “People working in the shops at Christmas have to tune out Christmas music because if they don’t, it really does stop you from being able to focus on anything else. You’re simply spending all of your energy trying not to hear what you’re hearing.”

No matter what you think of Christmas music- Whether November 1st is too soon to start playing it, or if it should be played all year round - you gotta admit that we all can agree on what the worst Christmas song ever is.

Justin Bieber's hip-hop rendition of "Drummer Boy" is terrible. With lines like "This sounds so good, I'm surprised we didn't hear it in the bible" and Busta Rhymes rapping "Gather round this mistletoe real quick" this song is just full of cringe. Take a listen.

Now that you have heard that garbage lets wash it out of your mind with a modern Christmas classic. You're welcome.
