College Student Snatches Mic From Administrator To Vent Her Anger On Graduation Day

At a graduation ceremony, a woman whose name was being called out angrily grabbed the administrator's microphone before accusing her of reading names "super fast for some Black people."
Kadia Iman, a TikTok user, released a video on the app in which she appears to take the mike away from a school official who appears to be announcing students' names during an outdoor graduation ceremony.
With over 20 million views in a single day, the altercation has gone viral.

In the brief video, Kadia steals the school official's mic so she can speak.
"I want the mic. Let go... you didn't let me get my moment," she said.
She then continued by stating her complete name to the audience: "I am graduating today."
"I don't like how you snatched the mic out of my hand, so today is going to be all about me."
After that, she threw down the mic and left.

Kadia gave the following justification for her conduct in her reply to a TikTok user: "Basically what happened was, I was walking on, and we had to announce our names before we get on the stage, and I was saying my name... my name is long, obviously, I have like three syllables in it, so I didn’t even finish getting to say my name.”
"And then the people that went before me, they all got to say their name, their major, and even some extras.”
"Me and the other girl noticed she was pulling the mic down super fast for some Black people.”

"I don’t want to be that person, but that was the tea.”
"So I just couldn’t let that happen because I just feel like I worked so hard to graduate and went through so much s*** to graduate that I just felt like I had to reclaim my moment.”
"I’m sorry like, I’m not a problematic person, I don’t want to ruin no one's day, I don’t want to violate anyone… but that’s what she did.”
"She didn’t even let me finish speaking, she put the mic down and cut me off and that was the only time I was able to speak.”
"So I just felt like that wasn’t right."
One viewer's response to the video was as follows: "Why they be like that, just give u ur chance."
A second added: "Queen slayyy! That’s how yk that lady was wrong because that cop didn’t even stop you from getting your moment."
While another wrote: "Thank you for standing up for yourself🥰 as you should."
