Born with the extraordinary circumstance of sharing 30 percent of their frontal lobe brain tissue and critical blood tissue, the Schappell twins have faced unique challenges.

Yet, they have defied these physical limitations to lead separate lives and assert their individuality.

Each twin identifies as a distinct individual, forging their own paths and engaging in separate romantic experiences.

Despite being conjoined twins, Lori and George Schappell have found a way to lead separate lives and pursue their individual romantic experiences.

When Lori has been involved with boyfriends in the past, she and George have managed to create a system that allows her to date while George focuses on other matters.

"I lost my virginity at the age of 23 to my second boyfriend," she told The Sun.

Due to the specific way, Lori and George are conjoined, George has the ability to avoid seeing anything he doesn't want to during Lori's intimate moments with her partners.

They don't face each other, and George would bring books to read on their dates, allowing him to focus elsewhere and disregard any kissing or intimate activities.

She explained: "When I went on dates, George would bring along books to read and, as we don't face each other, he could ignore any kissing. I don't see why being a conjoined twin should stop me having a love life and feeling like a woman."

Tragically, in 2006, Lori was engaged to be married. However, just four months before their wedding day, her fiancé fell victim to a devastating incident caused by a drunk driver.

"It was devastating and my heart is broken," Lori said.

"I am still in contact with his family and have only recently started dating again.

"George looked after me. If it wasn't for him, I don't know if I could have lived through the heartbreak."

By the '90s, George had undergone a personal transformation, changing his name to Reba, as the twins disliked having names that rhymed.

Reflecting on Lori's desire to get married and have a family, Reba expressed his genuine happiness and support for his sister's aspirations.

"Well, he [Lori's future husband] would be like a brother-in-law to me that is is it. They can do whatever they do and I'll act like I'm not even there. I would block out."
