Cops 'Prank' Motorists By Pulling Them Over To Give Them Something Better Than A Ticket

#1 Two police officers from Halifax, Virginia, are being praised online for randomly pulling over motorists over the weekend.

#2 Chief Kevin Lands and Officer Brian Warner decided to play a small prank by pulling people over and informing them they were breaking a new law.

#3 It turns out that in the Virginia heat, it's illegal to drive without an ice cream cone...

The clip has garnered some 4 million views since it was posted to Facebook, and people have been praising the two cops for their community outreach.

#5 Chief Lands said on Facebook that they gave out a total of 16 cones on the day.

The good will gesture follows increased tensions between police and the communities they serve.

Following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, five officers were killed by a sniper in Dallas, Texas, and three others were killed in an ambush in Baton Rouge.
