Country's First Ever Male Gold Medallist Showered In Bizarre Gifts After Olympic Success
Indeed, the Olympic Medal Table for this year is dominated by the United States and China. Surprised.
There are still many happy moments, like as the nation having its first-ever male gold medallist, even though the biggest names enjoy even more victories.
The floor event champion Carlos Yulo of the Philippines created history on Saturday, August 3, by taking first place on the podium.
Less than a day later, he won the vault.

Following his Olympic success, the 24-year-old received an abundance of strange gifts, making him the first gold medallist for his country to win two times.
It was already well-publicized that Yulo would be receiving a condo for his gold medal win, but the rewards didn’t stop there.
In case you didn’t catch it, the athlete was initially slated to receive a two-bedroom condo in Manila, valued at 24 million Philippine pesos (£327,932), from Megaworld Corp.
There was also plenty of buzz about whether he’d get another condo for his second medal.
Instead, the company decided to 'upgrade' his prize to a three-bedroom condo, which comes with an even higher price tag.
His new apartment is in the McKingley Hill township of Megaworld Corp., which is advertised as the residence of "several world-class athletes, including members of the Philippine national teams for basketball and football."
Yulo would receive cash from the corporation in addition to his condo, valued at 3 million Philippine Pesos ($52,275).
But instead of a house and additional money from the government and House of Representatives, the prizes start to become a little more random.
In the Philippines, ramen, mac & cheese, and grilled chicken from numerous restaurant chains are waiting for him in abundance.

Well, allegedly they also have free buffets.
In addition, Yulo has been promised free university credits by the University of Mindanao in case he wants to advance his education.
And maybe most weird of all, a gastroenterologist has promised the Olympian free colonoscopies and consultations for the rest of his life.
According to Manila's mayor, Honey Lacuna, the city is getting ready to greet Yulo with a "hero's welcome" when he returns.
“The grandest welcome will greet him and all our Paris Olympians. When we meet him, we will present Carlos Yulo cash incentives, awards, and symbols of the eternal gratitude of the proud capital city of the Philippines,” she said.
Following his second gold win, Yulo stated: “I was just hoping to perform well. I didn't really expect a medal. It really felt like a bonus for me."
"It's crazy, because last night I couldn't sleep. I was so hyped because I had won that gold medal [the day before].”
