Seldom in our lives, we hear about real life fairy tales, so when we get to hear one we are all ears. Well, this is the story of Laura Scheel and Matt Grodsky, of Phoenix, Arizona, who first met in pre-school, when they were just 3-years old. Matt fell in love with Laura at this young age of 3-years old and pledged in front of the whole class to marry Laura one day.

Laura and Matt spent their childhood together and according to Matt it was Laura who taught Matt how to ride the swings, draw rolling hills, and the "right way" to properly eat string cheese.'

Matt says he was completely smitten by Laura and spent most of his time in class trying to impress her. He says, "I remember trying to impress her during a Cinco De Mayo celebration at the preschool where we were trying to break open a piñata. Fortunately, I was the kid who managed to do it and I assume it got her attention."

However, even though the kids had such a strong bonding and unique friendship, with time they got separated from each other and lost track of each other. Even though, their families were in contact with each other throughout the years, sending Christmas cards and such. But Laura and Matt didn't keep in contact.

But then life gave Matt a chance to meet the love of his life again and they met again through a mutual friend in high school and their old school romance sparked up again.

Within, two weeks of their meetup the couple got in a relationship and maintained the status throughout their high school and college years. According to Matt, it was the true beginning of their romance which soon led to an engagement.

Matt says, "We even stuck together long-distance while attending colleges in different states. We remained a resilient couple until May 23rd, 2015 when I decided to stay true to my preschool pledge and make Laura my wife."

The sweetest part of the story is Matt decided to propose his love the same place where they started their journey, that is their pre-school.

He said, “The whole car ride to the preschool she kept asking me why I seemed anxious, I kept checking my pocket when she wasn’t looking to make sure the ring was still there. After reaching there, I dropped down on one knee while my brother came in with the phone, snapping photos, Laura was shocked, I gave her my pitch on why I wanted her to marry me and she said yes ― whew!”

Finally, the couple got their happy ending and tied the knot in December 2016. Grodsky's uncle, who officiated the marriage, said one of the most beautiful thing, "For most kids in preschool, it's about finding your snacks and your sleeping mats, but for them, it was about finding their soulmates."
