André Bisson wanted to surprise his son by gifting him his favorite dinosaur toy. Little did he know that he will be surprised himself when the toy was delivered at his home. Not bothering to check the details of dimension while placing his order, Mr. Bisson never expected the toy to be delivered at his place in a huge crane.
#1 Mistakenly ordering a life-size toy
In a small British island of Guern, in the English channel, a dad decided to give his 4-year old a gift of dinosaur toy. Dad ordered the gift online and was ready to receive it. There as one problem though. Not looking into the details while ordering, dad mistakenly ordered not just a toy but a huge life-size toy that was 20 ft long!
#2 Theo fell in love with the character after watching the Disney classic Dinosaur
Young Theo has been after his dad André Bisson for a long time for a bigger Carnotaurus. Theo fell in love with the character after watching the Disney classic Dinosaur and wanted a toy similar to that.
#3 The family started their search online
Theo's parents immediately started their search online for the toy and finally, his mom came across an advertisement from a nearby amusement park offering one of their decorative statues and with luck on their side, it was a Carnotaurus, just like the one their kid wanted.
#4 André Bisson spent around 1,000 pounds on the toy
Without even going through the details and inquiring about its dimensions André Bisson spent around 1,000 pounds (about 1,200 euros). Mr. Bisson told the Sun Online, “I searched and searched for the one that he saw, but couldn’t find it… Then his mum sent me a link on Facebook about Tamba Park in Jersey selling all their equipment which included their dinosaurs.
“I checked the website straight away, and to my absolute amazement, they had a Carnotaur! Listed for £1,000, I just had to get this for Theo.”
#5 With only small image to go by Mr. Bisson didn't go into the details of size
“The issue was as this was being sold off online, there was only a thumbnail image to try and gauge the size, no details whatsoever and no one to ask, I didn’t care really!
“I knew he would be big, I estimated 3m long x 1.5m max… as it turns out, he was much bigger at 5m long x 2.3m high.”
#6 Delivered with the help of a crane
The animal toy was so large it had to be delivered by a special crane.
#7 Chaz soaked up rain and weighed almost 2 tons
The delivery was made even more difficult when Chaz (the special name given to his toy by Theo) soaked up rain in Jersey, making him weigh at least 2 tons. Mr. Bisson, “The delivery team took about 30/40 minutes from when they arrived along the coast to Chaz being dropped in.
“The thought did cross my mind that if Chaz were to drop or fall through a roof, I was imagining the phone call to my insurance broker… ‘Ok sir, exactly how did a 20ft long hole appear in your roof?’… ‘Well, a fully grown Carnotaurus fell from the sky.’
“Thankfully he was well strapped in, although when he was being lowered in a gust of wind started him spinning in the air.
“His tail missed my dormer window by less than an inch!”
#8 Theo was the happiest with his new toy
Even though Theo's parents got worried about this surprising delivery at their home but one person who was ecstatic to receive it was Theo.
Chaz will remain in the Bisson family's garden until Theo doesn’t want him anymore, which will most likely be never.
#9 Theo has got a pet dinosaur of his own
Mr. Bisson told Unilad, “Theo didn’t want to go to school as he didn’t want to leave him, he thought he’d be home alone – he wanted to take him on the yellow crane.
“He said he was hungry, so we cooked fish fingers and fed him. Theo and Chaz are best buds – he’s got a pet dinosaur!”
#10 The giant animal toy is kept in their garden
#11 Theo loves playing with his new friend and even feeds him too
