One of the typical rewards kids receive for a good school report is extra time on the Xbox or an ice cream cone. For Liverpool resident Buddy, it was a visit to the infamous Hooters.
Dad Takes 9-Year-Old Son To Hooters As 'Reward' For Good School Report
I'm not sure about you, but my parents would give me a smack on the back and say "well done" whenever I got a decent-ish school report. If necessary, they might take us to a restaurant like TGI Friday's.
But after Buddy received an outstanding evaluation from his teachers this week, Paul Edwards of Liverpool had something a little more thrilling in store for him.
The 36-year-old thought he had earned himself a nice supper and a night out on the town because of his son's academic achievements.
And where better to bring his nine-year-old than the town's brand-new Hooters?
Really? Yes.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with how the business operates, it simply entails young, attractive women selling beer, burgers, and another typical BBQ fare to a customer base that is primarily composed of men.
You'll recognize what I'm talking about if you've seen any American comedies from the 1990s or the middle of the 2000s.
However, the business has recently begun adding locations in the UK, first in Nottingham and most recently in Merseyside.
According to Paul, Buddy didn't genuinely think it was real, so he thought he'd take him there to show that it was. Paul revealed this in a statement to LADbible.
"We went to hooters as a reward for Buddy getting a great report in school," the proud dad tells us.
"He always thought it was fake, so when one opened up in Liverpool, I surprised him with a visit.”
"He was a bit shy at first but then he loved it - the staff was great and so helpful, and the food was beautiful."
Adding: "It's a great place to watch the match."
You may be asking at this point what Buddy's mother thought about everything.
I believe that the majority of dads would know what to expect if they asked their partners if they could take their son to Hooters. It's also a bad one.
Paul, though, claims that Buddy's mother seemed quite unconcerned about the situation.
"She was cool," he says. "She even dropped us off."
Talk about achieving your goals, huh?
And the two have already decided to return for another outing.
Buddy told us: "I want to come here every week for a dad and lad night. The food's great!"
"He said he wants to go and watch England v USA on Friday (25 November)," Paul added.
I believe that Paul is an excellent role model for fathers everywhere.
