The second season of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders hit Netflix earlier this week
23 Strict And Surprising Rules Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Have To Follow, And Netflix Viewers Are Shocked
Viewers have been left stunned after discovering just how many strict rules the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are expected to follow.
Often referred to as the DCC, this iconic group of cheerleaders represents the Dallas Cowboys, one of the most well-known teams in the NFL. While most NFL teams have cheer squads now, this tradition actually goes back to the 1950s.
It’s believed that the Baltimore Colts were the first team in the league to form a cheerleading squad. Interestingly, the New York Giants remain the only NFL team in history that has never had one.
Currently, a few other teams—like the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers—also don’t have cheerleaders, according to Diario AS.
But when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, there's no sign the team will be ending their cheer squad anytime soon. In fact, they’re so prominent that they’ve got their own documentary series. The second season just dropped on Netflix on June 18.
The show, titled America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, first aired with a season that followed the 2023–2024 squad. It gave viewers an inside look into their auditions, the intense training camp, and everything that happened throughout the NFL season.
The first season debuted last year and instantly sparked conversation. Some viewers even said it was 'so upsetting' that they thought Netflix should’ve added a trigger warning before the episodes.
Even though certain parts of the show are difficult to watch, fans couldn’t look away. The docuseries remains a big hit and still holds a flawless 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now that season two is here, people are once again talking about the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and this time, attention has turned to the long list of strict rules they allegedly have to live by.
According to Cosmopolitan, here are the 23 rules that cheerleaders on the squad are expected to follow:
