Distraught Georgia Dad Shares Son, 11, Jumped Out of School Bus To Escape Beating From Bullies
A distraught Georgia father says his 11-year old son jumped out of a school bus and onto a passing truck in a desperate attempt to escape his bullies.
Dion Murphy told FOX5 Atlanta that his son fled out of a bus window last Wednesday as he was being mercilessly beaten by other students.
“One student jumped in his face, he was pushing him against the window, when he fell, the other student took his shoe and in a desperate attempt to escape it, he jumped out the window,” Murphy said.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the school bus stopped at a lane and at this moment the middle school child jumped out of the right rear window, as a result, he landed on a passing pickup truck before rolling onto the highway.
The child who is a student at Youth Muddle School in Walton County after his near-death experience was immediately shifted to the hospital, he reportedly suffered from a concussion and a broken elbow.

According to the dad, this isn't the first time his son is bullied. The devastated family said they alerted the officials about the previous incidents and that this one caused the boy to almost jump to his death.
“I believe he was trying to escape the situation. At this moment, he felt his back was up against the wall,” his dad told the station.

The dad adds that he’d seen a video of the beatdown during a meeting with the school’s principal on Friday.
“There’s more tapes and that’s why I’m so upset because the school neglected the bullying act and did not do anything about it,” the distraught dad said. “They took it as horseplay, but my son could have lost his life.”
Not taking any more risk and relying on the school administration for any sane action, the son is no longer attending the school.

In fact, a spokesperson for Walton County Schools even reported that the district was aware of the bullying allegations.
“The Walton County School District does not tolerate bullying and harassment of any kind,” the statement said. “The incident is being thoroughly investigated by school officials and any disciplinary issues that may arise will be handled appropriately at the school level.”
