Doberman Dog Adopts Tiny Abandoned Kitten And Nurses Her Alongside Her Puppies

A Doberman Pinscher named Ruby resides in the town of Geneseo in upstate New York with her owner Brittany Callan. She welcomed and reared an abandoned newborn cat as if she were her own puppy just a week after giving birth to a litter of six puppies.

Callan discovered the kitten in the grass and gave it the name Ramblin' Rose. She was reminded of Ruby, who had recently given birth to puppies when she spotted the lost cat. She brought the little blind infant home in the hopes that when Ruby saw the defenseless kitten, her maternal instincts would surface. Thankfully, it succeeded. Rose was licked by Ruby as if she were her mother.

“[Ruby] took right to her and didn’t seem to mind at all,” Callan told Daily Paws, adding, “She grew up with small animals [and learned] to be nice and just lick them and be friendly with everything… She’s just an extremely, extremely compassionate dog.”

Currently, Rose is residing with Ruby and her puppies. She adores her brand-new puppy sibling or siblings dearly. The kitten is also loved by Ruby and her pups. Even Ruby carries her in her mouth around the house. At night, they cuddle up next to one another and share a bed like a little family.

When the puppies reach the age of 10 weeks, they will be placed in their new homes. Ramblin' Rose will be brought home by Gibbs, Callan's cousin, once she is all grown up.
