Jeffrey Epstein did not die by suicide, according to a forensic pathologist who attended his post-mortem examination.

Epstein’s death was officially ruled a suicide after he was found hanging in his New York jail cell on August 10, 2019. The ruling came after an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

At the time, Epstein was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Officers discovered him hanging from the side of his cell’s bunk bed at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Dr. Michael Baden, who observed the autopsy on behalf of Epstein’s estate, is now calling for a fresh investigation following the latest document release.

"My opinion is that his death was most likely caused by strangulation pressure rather than hanging," the pathologist told The Telegraph.

Dr. Baden, who is known for examining high-profile deaths, has pointed to several concerns. Among them are claims that the guards assigned to check on Epstein every 30 minutes did not follow that procedure.

Questions have also been raised about the surveillance cameras positioned near Epstein’s cell. Reports indicate that the cameras were either not working or failed to record at key times.

Footage from the night of his death also reportedly contained a missing minute, from 11:58 p.m. and 58 seconds to 12:00 a.m., which has fueled further speculation.

The most recent file release included a redacted version of Epstein’s autopsy report. Dr. Baden commented on this, saying: "I have not seen any evidence of further study, nothing that indicated further investigation into the cause of death."

"The diagnosis was made a number of days after the first cause of death given,"

Back in 2019, he told Fox News that “the evidence points toward homicide rather than suicide.” He has maintained that position in the years since.

"That was my opinion at that time, and I still stand by it," he said again to The Telegraph.

"The autopsy findings are much more consistent with a crushing injury caused by homicidal strangulation than caused by hanging by suicide."

It was later reported that the noose fashioned from an orange bedsheet was not the same one allegedly used in Epstein’s death, adding another layer of confusion to the case.

Dr. Baden further stated: "Even one fracture, we have to investigate the possibility of a homicide. Two definitely warrant a full investigation."

"Findings in textbooks never see those fractures, and neither have I."

Explaining why he believes “the noose didn’t match the [injury],” he added: "It wasn't smooth like the sheet, the markings [on Epstein's neck] would have required a different type of material," he said.

Overall, Dr. Baden believes that key evidence may have been lost due to errors and poor handling of Epstein’s body following his death.

The FBI and the Department of Justice under former President Donald Trump have both stated that there is no evidence that Epstein was murdered.
