Doctor Sees ‘Normal’ Twins On Sonogram, But Mom Is Stunned When She Sees Their Faces

Donna and Vince were thrilled when a sonogram revealed they were having twins — but when Lucy and Maria were born in 1997, their parents and doctors did a complete double take.
Though the twins were born to the same mother and father, Maria has caramel complexion, brown eyes and curly brown hair. Lucy has pale skin, ginger-red hair and blue eyes.
Vince is white and Donna is half-Jamaican, and while Lucy and Maria have three older siblings — all with similar skin tones — they were somehow born at opposite ends of the spectrum.
As Lucy and Maria grew older, they were no strangers to odd glances, rude comments and bullying from their peers, but it’s only brought them closer together. Today, their story has inspired and fascinated millions of people all over the world.
At first glance, you’d think these girls were best friends and not twin sisters. Incredibly, they’re both!
