Dr. Karan Rajan shares the reason why men spend more time in the washroom as compared to women and explains how G-spot is mainly responsible for the delay. Meanwhile, Princeton gastroenterologist Dr. Anish Sheth shares the reason why men should not be exerting themselves while pooping in the washroom as this could lead to losing consciousness.
Doctor Shares The Reason Why Men Take Longer On The Toilet Than Women
This question of why men take longer in the washroom as compared to women has been one mystery for a long time.
There have been countless debates and jokes made out of this question.
However, jokes apart, according to one doctor, there may as well be a scientific reason why men tend to spend longer time in the washroom as compared to women.
Dr Karan Rajan once again took to his TikTok account to bust myths around the human body. Responding to one user's claim about the reason why women take less than five minutes on the toilet is because unlike men, their poo doesn’t hit their G-spot.
Well, Dr Rajan agrees with the woman and further details on how this theory is true. He also explains that is even possible for men to experience a feeling of ‘poo-phoria’ when grappling with a particularly large load.
He explained: "The prostate, often referred to as the male G-spot, is a gland that sits just in front of the rectum.
"So a particularly large bowel movement may stimulate this land, leading to 'poo-phoria'".
According to Princeton gastroenterologist Dr Anish Sheth, the relief one gets after an urgent toilet trip can be so satisfying and relieving that it can come close to an experience of an orgasm.
Dr Sheth - co-author of the book What's Your Poo Telling You? - claims that passing a particularly large stool can stimulate nerves that create an orgasmic-like experience... or 'poo-phoria', as Dr Karan said.
According to the doctor, the feeling can become addicting for some people as he explains to the Huffington Post: "The distension of the rectum that comes with the passing of a large mass of stool causes the vagus nerve to fire.
“The net effect of this is a drop in your heart rate and blood pressure, which in turn decreases blood flow to the brain. When mild, the light-headedness can lead to a sense of sublime relation — the high."
However, like many life pleasures, the attempt to chase the first high can lead to disappointing results and in some cases can be disastrous.
Giving a fair warning of overdoing it after a particularly big relief, Dr. Sheth claimed that straining too hard can produce a feeling so intense that it makes the user feel light headed and prone to losing consciousness.
"A more significant drop in brain perfusion can cause ‘defecation syncope’, a dangerous syndrome that results in a loss of transient consciousness (the O.D. or Over-Doodie)," they explained.
So guys, next time you try to get high pooping in the washroom, remember to take it easy.
