The man's family allegedly hurried him to the hospital as soon as they learned the truth that a steel cup was in his rectum, according to local media. Because he was afraid of looking stupid, he delayed reporting the incident.
Doctors Remove A Steel Cup From A Man’s Rectum In India
Ten days after being implanted in his rectum by his friends as part of a drunken prank, a man needed medical help to get the steel cup removed.
A nearby hospital performed surgery to remove the cup, which was around 3-4ins (8cm) in diameter and 6in (15cm) long.
The 45-year-old man, who is from the Indian city of Balipadar, went out drinking with his buddies on Friday, August 19, in Gujarat, an area of India where alcohol is not allowed.
The terrible incident reportedly happened when the victim's companions revealed that they had "pranked" him by inserting the large steel cup up his rectum while he was "intoxicated."
After learning about the terrible incident, the man's family members reportedly had him sent to the hospital, according to local media.
The news source further said that the man delayed reporting the assault right away out of self-consciousness.
The cup was discovered to be stuck in the man's bowel, according to an X-ray taken at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur City, as reported by NDTV India. The cup was removed after 10 days when the man's stomach began to swell because he hadn't defecated since the incident.
The doctors had initially tried to remove the cup through the rectum, but the size of the object forced them to turn to surgery.
Due to the need to cut through the intestine to extract the steel cup, the entire process took two and a half hours to accomplish.
The man underwent surgery and is currently recovering in the hospital. He is claimed to be stable and will stay there for an additional four to five days under monitoring.
