Dog Desperately Chases After Owner's Car After Being Abandoned At The Roadside

A recent video has captured a truly heartrending scene: a dog desperately chasing after its former owner's car after being left behind on the side of the road.

On April 25th, animal rescuer Destiny Gomez took to Instagram to post a distressing clip from an incident that occurred on Pacific Coast Highway at Cherry Avenue in California.

The footage, which a food delivery driver captured, shows a small white dog—appearing to be a mix of Bull Terrier or Jack Russell—chasing after a black sedan.

The video is a montage of several clips where you can see the dog wagging its tail, gazing up at the car with hope, and panting as it struggles to keep pace.

Sadly, the dog is not let back into the car.

It turns out this poor dog was heartlessly abandoned by its previous owner right there on the roadside.

The emotional video continues with the dog braving oncoming traffic and attempting to jump into the vehicle, but without success.

Gomez's caption for the video was filled with outrage: "LETS FIND THIS TRASHY LADY + her poor dog. She even took her license plate off the car. This was absolutely planned.

"What a disgusting human being. He was last seen in this alley….. this is the world we live in guys! I’M SO PISSED. WE DON’T DESERVE ANIMALS."

If this story doesn’t make your blood boil and make your heart ache, I’m not sure what will. 

However, there’s a hopeful update from Gomez about the dog.

Gomez announced that the dog, now named Chico, was found and safely captured, and is now being cared for by the wonderful folks at Bella's Animal Rescue.

In a recent 'pupdate' on her story, Gomez shared that the rescue is preparing to take the next steps in Chico's recovery journey.

"We can finally focus on his health such as, getting him neutered, vaccines done, all that good stuff," she continues.

"He will forever get unlimited love. I promise you will never feel unwanted baby boy." 

She reassured her followers: "I personally know this rescue so please don't assume he's going somewhere untrustworthy. It's all going up from here on out Chico!" 

Gomez also posted a link encouraging donations to support Chico and the rescue center that took him in.

In the latest update, Gomez shared that Chico is thriving in his amazing foster home, but he is still searching for his forever home.
