You may have seen this photo of Caitlyn, a Staffordshire bull terrier mix, who cruelly had her snout duct-taped shut. The tape was applied so tightly that she is expected to be left with permanent damage.

Some justice seems to be on its way after William Dodson, 41, was arrested in North Charleston and charged with animal cruelty.

William's arrest came five days after the 15-month-old dog randomly showed up on a person's doorstep with the tape wrapped around her muzzle.

The person who found Caitlyn took her to the Charleston Animal Society. It was originally feared that Caitlyn's tongue needed to be removed, due to it becoming trapped between her teeth and losing blood flow in the process. Thankfully her encouraging recovery has shocked everybody.

Caitlyn has been responding well to hyperbaric and cold laser treatment to save damaged tissue in her mouth. The police are yet to release a motive for the crime.
Let's hope that Caitlyn continues to recover well.
