Drew Barrymore Joins Pamela Anderson In Going Makeup-Free And Ditching Hair Extensions On Camera

Drew Barrymore has been praised for appearing on TV without makeup or hair extensions.

On her own talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, she often welcomes celebrity guests to chat about a variety of topics. This week, Pamela Anderson joined her for a conversation.

Lately, Anderson has gained attention for embracing a more natural look, moving away from the glam style she was once known for.

She first showcased her makeup-free appearance during Paris Fashion Week 2023, which garnered global attention.

Anderson has since explained her choice to step away from makeup and embrace a more natural beauty routine.

"That was the beginning of me letting go of the image I had always had of myself," Anderson shared with Better Homes & Gardens earlier this year.

"What is this cartoon character that I'd created? OK, that was fun. But I'm not that person anymore."

Now, Barrymore has followed Anderson’s lead by going makeup-free on the October 22 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.

Her guests—Gillian Anderson, Gayle King, and Valerie Bertinelli—joined in by going without makeup as well.

In addition to forgoing makeup, Barrymore also removed her hair extensions while opening up about her experience with perimenopause and hair loss.

At one point, Barrymore admitted she felt a bit self-conscious when she saw her reflection on the monitor, and she noticed that she was adjusting her appearance more often than usual. She then asked Gillian Anderson how she felt going without makeup.

"I am hiding behind my glasses a little bit," The Fall actress answered. "I often don't wear makeup when I'm doing my TikTok posts and stuff, but what I am very aware of is the lighting [in the studio]."

King echoed similar feelings, adding: "I don't have hang-ups about taking pictures of myself without makeup, but it is different when you're on national TV."

The women were applauded by viewers for choosing to appear bare-faced on the show.

"I think it's cool that they're starting to normalize women's natural beauty," one fan wrote on Instagram.

Another commented: "They all look just absolutely beautiful! More of this please!"

"You all and all other women are naturally beautiful without makeup," added another, while someone else said: "You're great and natural characters make you even prettier on the outside."
