Daniel Mann dropped the parcel off at a Post Office, but the smell was so strong that the workers called the cops right away. They found 27 oz of cannabis worth roughly £6,000 inside the parcel, as well as Mann's mother's address.

Cops discovered another 28 oz of cannabis when they stormed the house.
Sentencing him, Judge Robert Adams said: “It was an unsophisticated offense.”
“It smelled of cannabis and even had your mother’s address on it, making it very easy to track down who the sender was.”
Prosecutor Neil Pallister told Newcastle crown court earlier this week: “Police got a phone call from staff saying a man had delivered a suspicious package for posting and it smelled of cannabis.”
"Police attended and it was quite clear the package left by the defendant contained two large bags of cannabis.”
The drugs recovered at South Gosforth Post Office and his mother's house in January had a combined value of £12,440.
Mr. Pallister said: “It was far more than personal use, even for someone with a heavy cannabis habit.” Police also found £5,120 in cash.
Mann, a 42-year-old Newcastle resident, is guilty of supplying marijuana.
He was given a nine-month term that was suspended for 18 months, as well as a six-month curfew and 100 hours of unpaid labor.
Mann lived a solitary existence, according to his lawyer, Tony Davis, and was attempting to convey the cannabis to a friend.
He added: “Those at the post office were overcome with the smell of what was in the package.”
Mann is his friend's registered carer, according to the court.
He is also believed to be regretful and to assist his disabled mother.
