This heartwarming act has gone viral on TikTok showing a caring boyfriend shaving his girlfriend's head who has alopecia and immediately sharing his own head, leaving many reaching for the tissues.
Eva Bari, a French law student from Monaco, has alopecia, a condition that causes bald patches and severe hair loss. Eva regularly shaves her head after periods of hair growth, but this time was a bit different.
Eva asked her boyfriend during her most recent shaving to help and film the process which she shared to TikTok.
Her caption reads: "After months growing my hair for the first time in 10 years, I had to ask my boyfriend to shave my head again... [the] first time was my granddad,"
The video shows Eva sitting down as her boyfriend carefully buzzes off her strands of hair, taking time to do it thoroughly. From time to time, Eva appears to be sad and sometimes distraught, but nonetheless brave and stoic.
After shaving Eva's head, in an emotional ending of the video, he takes the clippers and shaves his own head leaving people in tears.
Seeing her boyfriend shaving his head, she breaks down into tears and the footage ends with the pair kissing and hugging.
Originally shared on TikTok in May, it has exploded on many other social media platforms. The video has been viewed almost 12 million times with over 215k shares.
It has even reached celebrities who have responded to the video in a compassionate way, including Ben Stiller, Kathy Griffin, and Seth Green.
