Dunk Debacle: Mississippi State Player Fails Epically With This Attempt
#1
The last two dunk contests, specifically anything Zach LaVine threw down, at All-Star Weekend made many people forget how bad the event can actually be.
After nearly two decades of entertaining and mind blowing jams, the event came almost to a screeching halt in the early 2000's.
The art of the dunk is back, however, and even high school seniors are taking it to another level (Did you see the Powerade Jam Fest? If not, click HERE). There are some kids who bring their best slams to the college game, even if some of the coaches would rather they keep it off the floor during a game (there are some coaches who still consider it "showboating").
Luckily, there's the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships which features "24 of the best collegiate dunkers and sharpshooters showcasing their skills live," according to the event site. This year, the competition's 28th, the event took place on March 31st at the Berry Center in Houston for Final Four weekend.
#2 The result? Well, it didn’t go as well as planned for everyone who participated.
#3 Here’s a different angle:
That's Mississippi State guard Craig Sword who is attempting to jump over one of the sponsor's, Dennys', mascot. Obviously, he ended up a little flat
