How do you like your eggs in the morning?
According to researchers, the way you prefer your eggs might actually say a lot about your personality.
So, when it comes to breakfast, how do you take your eggs? While a kiss might not be on the menu, psychologists have looked into the different ways people eat their eggs and what it might reveal about them.
It might sound a bit like those childhood games — remember holding a buttercup under your chin to see if you liked butter? But this one’s backed by a little more science and not just playful fun.
A total of 1,010 egg fans across the UK were surveyed, not just about how they eat eggs, but also about personal aspects of their life — including things like their sex drive.
This study was put together by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), with research carried out by Mindlab International. And the results, they claim, reveal quite a bit about who you are.

Boiled eggs
The findings showed that boiled eggs were a more popular choice among women than men overall.
Those who prefer their eggs cooked in the shell were described as more likely to act on impulse, struggle with staying organized, or be a bit careless at times.
On top of that, the survey suggested that fans of boiled eggs could be more likely to experience divorce compared to others.
Poached eggs
Now, this might catch your attention if you’re someone who enjoys a bit of smashed avocado, tomatoes, a drizzle of olive oil, chili flakes, and garlic granules all piled on toasted sourdough — topped off with a perfectly poached egg and a splash of hot sauce.
It’s a very specific taste, and fittingly, the results show just how much can be learned about poached egg lovers.
According to the study, people who go for poached eggs are likely to have two children and tend to come from smaller families, usually with no more than one older sibling. The preference also leaned more toward women, and it became even more common among older age groups.
Poached egg lovers were also found to be more cheerful than average, outgoing, and full of energy. They tend to enjoy lively, upbeat music and often wear bold, eye-catching clothes.

Fried eggs
If your go-to is a fried egg — whether on its own or tucked into a breakfast sandwich — you’re probably a younger man, based on what the study found.
Interestingly, this choice is linked to people who are adventurous, imaginative, and open to exploring new things. That might come as a surprise, especially since fried eggs seem like the simplest option... unless we’re talking about one tucked between fresh bread with thick-cut sausages, of course.
The data also pointed out that fans of fried eggs often come from skilled working-class backgrounds, tend to have older siblings, and reportedly have a stronger sex drive and more diverse sex life. They also seem to remember their dreams more clearly than most.
So it turns out, there’s quite a bit to admire about people who love their eggs fried.

Omelettes
Based on the study, if you’re an omelette person, chances are you’re reliable, organized, and pretty good at sticking to your goals — which actually makes sense, since omelettes take a bit more skill than other egg styles.
Omelette fans are said to live longer, are less likely to divorce, and tend to keep clean, tidy homes.
They’re like the seasoned pros of the egg world — hats off to them.
Scrambled eggs
The research found that those who go for scrambled eggs are often in leadership positions or high-level jobs, have mortgages, and fall into the 20 to 39 age range.
Scrambled egg lovers were also found to be a bit more private and less likely to open up emotionally.
Of course, the study was done on a relatively small sample, so maybe don’t take the results too seriously — just like your eggs, take it all with a pinch of salt.
