Pretty In Pink

This '80s movie has really stood the test of time as one of the best coming-of-age romance movies. John Hughes, the movie's screenwriter, is a genius when it comes to putting epic soundtracks with his movies. Pretty In Pink has an amazing set of songs that make you want to jump up and down or bury your face in a pillow and cry.

The Pianist

Based on the famous pianist and composer, Wladyslaw Szpilman, The Pianist is full of beautiful classical music. These compositions are so amazing that they bring tears to your eyes. Director Roman Polanski places the songs so perfectly in the narrative that it makes you truly appreciate this soundtrack.

Pulp Fiction

This soundtrack was an eclectic mix of surf music, pop, rock and roll, and soul songs. If we didn't hear "Misirlou" by Dick Dale & The Del Tones in the 1994 classic film, would we have loved the song as much? But then again, the song really added something special to the movie.

The Lion King

Pretty much every Disney movie has an amazing soundtrack. The Lion King, though, has one of the best and most well-known list of songs that play throughout the movie. In fact, anyone who has watched this movie at least two times probably knows the words to every song.

The Bodyguard

You just knew this soundtrack would be amazing when you found out that Whitney Houston was going to be a star in it. I think most of us loved the soundtrack even more than the movie itself.

Garden State

This 2004 drama had a soundtrack from some really great artists like Simon and Garfunkel and Coldplay. There were even some unknown artists on the track, but that is what makes it a masterpiece. The people who chose some of these artists need an award for discovering some of the most underrated musical gems.

Top Gun

While Tom Cruise is absolutely amazing in this movie, it would not be nearly as good as it is without the music from the soundtrack. Whether it is the music the cast drunkenly crooned to in the bar or just the music that played in the background, it is truly on of my top picks for best movie soundtrack.

The Breakfast Club

John Hughes did it again with this movie. Every time the kids in this movie moved, we wanted to move right along with them. I cannot help but think about this movie every time "Don't You Forget About Me" plays on the radio. Hearing it also brings on the urge to watch the movie. Between the coming-of-age storyline and the epic soundtrack, The Breakfast Club is the ultimate '80s movie.
