A source familiar with the situation says that the actress “did not give permission to Elon to use the photo,” which was meant to stay “private.”

Heard felt particularly slighted by the move given that “Elon asked her several times to speak to Walter” for the book, which “she did … out of respect for Elon.”

“She spent two months designing and commissioning a head-to-toe costume so she could role-play for him,” the journalist wrote.

Musk went on to post a picture of his then-girlfriend in the costume on his social media platform and explained, “She did dress up as Mercy. It was awesome.”

The photo which was seemingly taken on a cellphone in someone’s home showed Heard in a cleavage-baring latex bodysuit with matching angel-like wings and a gold halo headpiece.
