Elton John recently made a humorous yet touching remark about his health, joking that there is "not much" of him left after revealing the number of organs and body parts he has had removed over the years.

The iconic singer shared these details while giving a speech during the premiere of a new documentary about his life and career.

The film, titled Elton John: Never Too Late, takes a deep dive into the 77-year-old legend's 50-year career, leading up to his final concert at Dodger Stadium.

As he introduced the documentary, Elton John reflected on his health with a bit of humor.

He playfully told the audience, “To be honest with you, there’s not much of me left."

Elton then made a reference to the philosophical concept known as the 'Ship of Theseus,' which poses the question of whether an object that has had all its components replaced remains the same object.

With a smile, he said, “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee. In fact, the only thing left to me is my left hip.”

Despite his long list of health challenges, Elton John continued on a positive note, expressing his gratitude to his fans.

He said, “But I’m still here. And I can’t thank you [enough], you’re the people that made me.”

Elton’s resilience and dedication to his fans have been a driving force in his incredible journey, showing that even through the toughest times, his passion for music remains unshaken.

In the 1990s, Elton had a pacemaker fitted to help manage an irregular heartbeat. Then, in 2009, he was hospitalized with a bacterial infection and influenza.

In 2013, doctors discovered an abscess on his appendix, and in 2016, he battled a case of 'gastric flu.'

Years of performing and touring around the world have also taken a toll on Elton's health, particularly affecting his hearing due to constant exposure to loud music and noise.

Acknowledging the impact of his long career, he recently announced his decision to retire from touring. He said, "As you know, I decided to stop touring because I’m 77 years of age. I’ve done all there is to do, to play. I’ve succeeded. I’ve been there and I’ve done it.”
