Bosses can be out of touch with reality on a good day but this one just takes the cake. This Redditor shared a story of how her boss asked her to come in to work, even after she had resigned.

Reddit

OP had handed in her notice after having worked at a craft store for a year.

When she checked to confirm however she was scheduled for two days after her notice period ended. She decided to get on a call with her store manager to clear things up.

The store manager assured her that the mistake would be fixed.

OP said she was annoyed she still had to mitigate situations like these but let it go. She had her last day, said her goodbyes, and was ready to close this chapter behind her.

That was until the next day when she got a call from her floor manager asking where she was.

She said she was packing since she had already served her last day.

The floor manager apparently did her the courtesy of adding her back to the schedule assuming she'll be available for a few more days.

OP said she had previously reported this person to corporate for similar issues.

OP's patience however was already waning thin.

The boss however had not accepted that OP did not work for them anymore demanding that they show up to work based on their schedule.

OP simply told them that she didn't work there anymore and was not obliged to cater to these demands.

The manager however kicked the rudeness up a notch and threatened OP with a warning.

This was OP's moment to shine. Who hasn't imagined scenarios of putting their boss firmly in their place?

OP just laughed in their face to where they could no longer hear what the manager was saying to them.

When OP finally caught her breath, she let her ex-boss know that she no longer took orders from her and hung up the call. Kudos to OP.

People in the comments loved OP's response and even shared instances where the same thing happened to them.

In fact, the boss's reaction was so absurd, it even had the commenters laughing.

Some said that they would have gone the 'malicious compliance' route and left their manager hanging waiting for them.

Some suggested OP reach out to corporate again and make a complaint.
