Entitled Couple Demand Extra Seat That Passenger Paid For To Account For Their Obesity

Travelling can be extremely terrible, so when you can give yourself a little bit of extra comfort, you go for it.

This Reddit user was of the same mind when she decided to book an extra seat on the plane to account for her obesity. She started her post by saying that she was aware she took more space than usual and hence purchased a second one to account for that.

“ I am well aware of that and I really don't like to bother people with my weight,” she added.

When she took her seat, she pulled up the armrest and got comfortable until a couple came along and sat right beside her noticing that the seat next to her was empty. 

“Exactly what I was afraid of happened. My side kept touching the guy next to me and he even pushed me a bit when he moved in the seat.”

Feeling extremely uncomfortable after paying for a whole extra seat no less, she decided to ask the man to return to his original seat. 

The man refused and continued to speak with his girlfriend with no plans on leaving. OP explained that they had bought the extra seat to avoid discomfort for themself and others but to no avail.

It was then that OP decided to call the flight attendant and asked for the man to be removed. As he vacated the seat, his girlfriend gave nasty looks to OP, even muttering obscenities under her breath.

Reddit users were quick to come to OP's support, saying that she was absolutely in the right. One commenter said that it didn't matter why OP bought the seat. As long as she had paid for it, noone else on the flight had a claim to it.

A former flight attendant also chimed in that the couple was being entitled and 'classless'.
