Entitled Public School Teachers Demand Server Cover Their $1,100 Bill

The service industry can be truly terrible and so can teaching. For TikTok user @chocolatemilkbrothers these two worlds collided in a not-so-pleasant way when they were waiting tables at a restaurant.

They said sarcastically that summer was usually their ‘favorite’ time to work due to the many teachers that would frequent their workplace since they would try to get free drinks and meals from the servers.

“Today is officially my new favorite attempt,” they added.

The teachers enjoyed their meal, as evident from the $1,100 bill that they racked up in their time there.

When the time came to settle the bill, the server went up to them to ask whether they would like for it to be split seven ways or for it to be presented together. This is when they said, “Whatever’s easiest for you.”

The server then reiterated that they could split the bill for them so they could use their cards to make the payment. 

“One of the ladies looks down at it and slides it to me and goes, ‘I don’t think you understand. We’re public school teachers, so you guys can handle this.'”

The server without missing a beat said, “That’s great you’re public school teachers, but that doesn’t make your bill our responsibility.”

One of the seven teachers ultimately covered the bill but decided that she wanted the last word. Once she had the receipt, she signed and showed him what she left as a tip for him.

“Oh, $100. That’s very generous of you.”

This is when she ripped the receipt in half in front of him in a theatrical display.
“Good luck getting it now,”

To this, OP replied that it was a receipt not a check so tearing it up wouldn't accomplish much.
