The former One Direction star realized what was happening but went ahead with it anyway
There are countless fans out there who would probably jump at the chance to marry former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, but one of them may have actually made it happen.
And the funniest part? It seems that Tomlinson didn’t even fully realize it was happening!
This quirky "marriage" story unfolded earlier this year while Tomlinson was on tour with his album Faith In The Future, performing and meeting fans around the world.
The twist came during his stop in Jakarta, where the Bigger Than Me singer crossed paths with his so-called future "wife," though at the time, she must have just seemed like any other devoted fan.
But there was more to it, as the fan in question is actually a TikToker who goes by the handle '@ladycryalot'—and she arrived with a plan.
In a TikTok video, she revealed what went down during their encounter, sharing: "So I just got back from 'Faith in the Future' in Jakarta, and I lost my voice because I was having fun, I was having so much fun."
"And I went there as a single woman, right? I don't have any boyfriend, I don't have any fiancée or something like that, but I got back from there as a married woman."
"I'm a married woman. I'm married to Louis Tomlinson. I'm his lawfully wedded wife," she added.
So, how exactly did she manage to pull this off?
According to the fan, the "document" she had Tomlinson sign was actually a mock marriage certificate that featured a photo of the two of them together.
Tomlinson seemed to sense something was a little off, as he asked her: "What's this, some kind of declaration of marriage, is it?"
Though it might not have been the wedding of his dreams, Tomlinson went along with it and signed the paper, joking afterward that he’d have to make more trips to Jakarta if his "wife" wanted him to.
The fan continued explaining in her post: "I did not go to the meet and greet but my friend did, and my friend asked him 'are you going to go back to Jakarta', and he answered 'if my wife wants to', after he signed this."
"I'm his wife, are you kidding me?," she said.
Although she was clearly thrilled to call herself Tomlinson's "wife," it’s worth noting that in Indonesia, marriages require a formal ceremony to be legally recognized. So, if you’re still hoping for your chance with Louis, you’re not out of luck just yet!
