Are you guilty of doing this on a flight?
Flight Attendant Shares Why You Should Never Lean Your Head Against Plane Window
If you choose to sit in the window seat of a plane, it might seem like a good idea to cozy up next to the glass and take a nap.
However, a flight attendant has revealed why you should never lean on the window of an aircraft to fall asleep.
Nowadays, most of us pre-book our plane seats online and even pay extra to get the spot we want.
Some people prefer the aisle because who wants to climb over sleeping passengers when you need the toilet, right?
On the other hand, many will always go for the window seat, mainly to enjoy the view during the flight.
Not surprisingly, the middle seat is the least popular option. A lot of people book ahead to make sure they're seated with family and friends they may be traveling with.
Unless you plan on 'raw-dogging' your flight, most of us will try to pass the time by taking at least a short nap during the journey.
But if you have chosen the window seat, it’s best not to fall asleep leaning against the glass pane.
Flight attendant Tommy, who goes by @tommycimato on TikTok, has shared five things you shouldn't do while traveling on an aircraft.
He explained, "Do not sleep/lean on the window. You're not the only one who has done that, and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands—or other things—all over the windows."
We hadn't thought of this before, but Tommy makes a valid point.
He also mentioned other things you should avoid doing while on a plane, such as never touching the toilet's flush button with bare hands.
"It's super unsanitary and pretty gross," he said. "Don't forget to drink water. You want to have about 16oz for every flight that you go on.
“[And] don't feel afraid to let a flight attendant know if you're feeling sick.
“We are there to help, so if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag, let us know."
Of course, if you plan on 'raw-dogging' your flight, you won’t need much at all—not even water.
In case you missed it, raw-dogging is a new—and pretty strange—travel trend where people go on long-haul flights with absolutely nothing to keep them occupied.
Most of us like to dive into a book, watch several movies, or at least listen to music while flying.
But for those who enjoy 'raw-dogging,' a long flight often means staring out the window, focusing on the flight map for the entire trip, or simply twiddling their thumbs.
Even food and water are off-limits.
