Birthday celebrations are supposed to be unique, complete with birthday cake and, if adults are present, perhaps a drink of fizz.

But for one youngster, who is turning four, things haven't quite gone as planned for his birthday celebration.

Sadly, Malachi, age four, had no desire to have anyone attend his birthday celebration because his mother had to get a vegan cake.

Since all of the schoolchildren chose to skip the celebration because her son is vegan, Angel Craine, 27, has now begged for help.

Two weeks before the birthday bash, Craine sent out invitations, but after Malachi's school kids started picking on him because of the vegan cake, he didn't get any response.

Speaking to 7 News, Craine said: "They’ve all bullied him and told him they aren’t coming unless he has a cow in his cake."

The mother continued by saying that Malachi's birthday is at the end of October, and she had planned to prepare a chocolate vegan cake for the celebration. The cake will have a Pokémon theme.

"I just can’t get over that kids his age already bully vegans," the devastated mom continued.

"[Malachi] was pretty sad that no one wants to be his friend or come but he’s pretty resilient."

After learning that nobody would be attending the party, Craine made a request for advice on what to do next on the Vegans in Australia Facebook group.

She wrote on Facebook, too: "My four-year-old son seems to get bullied a lot for being vegan.”

"Apparently none of his friends want to come to his birthday if he has a vegan cake and are always being rude about him being vegan all the time.”

"So I’m wondering if there are any people around the northside of Brisbane with vegan children that would like to come to his fifth birthday."

Since then, Craine has been overwhelmed by the post's support, and 12 of the group members' children are now anticipated to join the celebration.

"He’s super excited to make friends with similar interests and ethics," the mom said.

"I absolutely am in awe of how caring the vegan community is."

Although Craine expressed her pride in her kid for standing up for what he believes in, it is clear that she is upset by the bullying her son has experienced at school.

Malachi's story reminds us to be kind and accepting of children's choices, whether it's their food preferences or lifestyle. Supporting them creates a world where all kids can enjoy their birthdays without fear of bullying.
