Gen Z Boy Who Went Viral Explains Why He Won't Talk To His Family Because They 'Don't Have Followers'

A man who went viral for a video in which he licked a toilet has openly declared that he won't talk to his family because "they don't have followers."

Larz, a Generation Z social media influencer with over 300,000 followers on Instagram, faced heavy criticism online after a clip from his interview with Dr. Phil resurfaced on the platform X.

The video, shared by @PicturesFoIder, quickly went viral, racking up over 8.7 million views in just 24 hours.

Needless to say, Larz's remarks left many users scratching their heads.

While sitting on Dr. Phil's couch, Larz stated, "I mean I don't talk to my family, they're irrelevant."

The comments from X users soon followed, with reactions ranging from confusion about his fame — "if he's so famous, why don't I know who he is?" — to critical remarks about his attitude, like "the real pandemic is narcissism."

Another user humorously added, "we had a good run as a species."

However, what really agitated viewers was his dismissive comment about his family, labeling them as irrelevant.

Larz added fuel to the fire by saying, "Everyone's upset with it, maybe because you guys aren't relevant either so you don't understand."

Dr. Phil, quick to defend those criticized, countered with, "You know what I found? The bigger the star the smaller the ego."

During a 2022 appearance on the Australian radio show, the Kyle and Jackie O Show, presenter Jackie 'O' Henderson inquired if Larz still speaks to his family, to which he replied:

"Of course not. I stopped talking to them so long ago, it’s actually embarrassing that people would think I still talk to them."

When asked about his current circle of communication, he revealed, "I talk to Cardi B over Instagram DM. We met on Twitter in 2015 and ever since have talked fluently. 

"I'm just more famous than everyone and I won't talk to people who aren't unless they get the same amount of followers as me."

He further shared that he comes from a large family, with five brothers and four sisters, all of whom he has blocked on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.

He firmly stated he wouldn’t speak to them until they matched his follower count.

On Dr. Phil, when he reiterated his stance about not speaking to his family, he explained:

"They're irrelevant, none of them have followers. If they have followers or got rich I'd probably talk to them again."

Dr. Phil, taken aback, sought to confirm what he had heard was accurate—yes, doctor, it was.

Larz continued, "If they had followers they would be here right now."

Dr. Phil asked, "You're talking about your mother?"

To which Larz responded, "I mean, my mom has more followers than my sister."

Despite his large online following, Larz doesn't seem to use his social media much anymore. His last Instagram post was back in 2018, and his TikTok account has been removed.
