Girl Bullied For Having "Thunder Thighs" Shuts Down Haters

21-year-old Meghan Gilbert was bullied for years for having "thunder thighs". But, the young woman was determined to get fit and has become a fitness model after losing a third of her body weight. Not too long before taking on a major lifestyle change, her weight had increased dramatically.

As she grew older, the bullying intensified, and she developed depression and anxiety. However, this impressive young lady has lost an amazing 137 pounds and feels so much better about herself. This photo that she posted on Instagram shows you how much the young woman has changed due to her hard work.

Meghan says the old her was full of anxiety, depression, and sin. She was addicted to drugs and partied almost every night. She said that when she woke up after nights like that, she wished she hadn't woken up at all. Her life was very sad.

The young woman hated everything part of her body and her being. One night she drank too much and took too many pills and slept for 36 hours straight. After that, she decided she desperately needed a change.

Once Meghan had finally hit rock bottom, she was determined to make a change in her life. Her Christian faith was a major source of inspiration for the young woman. She said after waking from her overdose that she “saw my tattoo ‘walk by faith, not by sight’ and that’s when I knew I wasn’t doing life right.”

Meghan delved right into a major lifestyle change that she desperately needed. She loved to go to the gym. She loved the pain and soreness. She loved the hardship. She loved the people around her. And, she loved God.

Meghan went from hating herself and life to pushing herself to be the best possible person that she could be. She started out with intense gym workouts and weightlifting. She was bound and determined to get the best possible results through pure hard work.

Meghan was under no illusion that changing her lifestyle would be easy. She has increased her fitness level beyond belief and has learned that patience is key when you are trying to overcome all of the bad habits developed before changing for the better.

“Saying no, I can’t do it and not trying. Or saying yes, I can do it. I will try. I won’t give up, no matter how hard it is or how much it hurts. I trust you, God.”

“After the pain and trials, you end up stronger,” she concluded. “I started at a 5lb dumbell, and now I’m lifting a 25lb. It hurt when I first lifted that five… so bad, but I kept on going. To 10. It hurt. To 15. It hurt.”

We say "Way to go, Meghan!" It is not easy to overcome demons and set on a path to a healthy lifestyle. She is an inspiration to anyone else out there that is going though what she went through, and we wish her the best of luck in the future.
