A YouTuber shared an eye-opening experience after dropping a GoPro under a fishing pier, revealing some surprising and 'crazy' sights.

We often hear the saying "what you don't know can't hurt you," and when it comes to what’s lurking in the sea, most of us would prefer to remain blissfully unaware. But sitting on a rickety pier above the water can only keep you safe for so long.

Brant Peacher, an angler and YouTuber, decided to visit what’s known as the 'world’s most dangerous pier' on Okaloosa Island in Florida. Instead of fishing, he threw his GoPro into the water to uncover the mysteries below.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Brant explains how he rigged his GoPro to his fishing rod and lowered it into the water, curious to see what he could capture.

He said, "And I'm going to show you guys some pretty crazy stuff swimming around this pier."

Brant even considered trying to catch whatever appeared on camera, but he might have had second thoughts once he saw what the footage revealed.

As the GoPro descended into the shallow waters, things got intense fast. One of the first things caught on film was 'a giant tail' briefly coming into view.

"That was massive," Brant said, clearly surprised.

While the water was teeming with little fish and the scenery looked calm and blue, Brant soon realized why this GoPro drop would end up being one of the most nerve-wracking he'd ever attempted.

The camera caught sight of a dark, shadowy figure moving through the water—it was none other than a 'massive' tiger shark.

And, as the clip progressed, the shark swam even closer to the camera, giving viewers an up-close look at the formidable predator.

"When I say this pier was covered with tiger sharks," Brant explained. "They were absolutely everywhere."

To back up Brant’s words, another tiger shark soon appeared on camera, and later in the footage, yet another shark emerged from the depths, locking its gaze on the GoPro with its sharp, focused eyes.

One YouTube user wrote: "These camera shots were absolutely spectacular. The bio mass of life under this pier is breathtaking. Awesome work."

Another commented, "Those tiger sharks are a bit more than I'd want to deal with. I'm not sure how aggressive they are but they look big enough to take a chunk out of you."

A third viewer remarked: "It never fails to amaze me how many people I see at the beach swimming near piers."

And someone else reflected on their own experiences: "As someone who has jumped off of piers in my younger days... dang was I lucky!! Beautiful videos. Thank you."
