Gender reveals are the latest craze, and this family went all out for theirs. With balloons, confetti, and even a choreographed dance routine, the reveal was going to be epic.
But when grandma was placed front and center for the big reveal, things quickly took a hilarious and unexpected turn. Pro tip: when it comes to gender reveals, maybe keep the grandparents at a safe distance!
A noisy celebration that was inspired by football nearly resulted in the terrible tragedy of a grandmother when the elderly woman was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious during the rowdy.
And because of the rapid spread of the video of her faceplant, many on social media who are suspicious and skeptical believe that grandmother didn't just fall; they say she was pushed.
"Pro tip: don't put your grandma in the front row of your gender reveal," said Amanda Huber, a mother from Knoxville, Tennessee, in the caption of her viral cautionary video. The video was shot in May 2021, yet it only recently made its TikTok premiere.
The post has garnered over 16 million views, and in it, a white-haired darling can be seen crashing down on the ground in ecstasy while a crowd of people behind her began leaping up and down in surprise.
The immensely ecstatic partygoers, most of whom were wearing pink and blue necklaces and grasping cans of beer, were going absolutely crazy at the news that the pregnant Lady was going to have a son.
As soon as Huber's grandma fell to the ground, however, the cheers of delight transformed into cries of dread almost immediately.
TikTok viewers had the same reaction as everyone else when they saw the scene. Nevertheless, rather than showing concern for the elderly well-being, cynics on the internet pointed the finger of blame at a woman wearing a yellow sweater, who just so happens to be Huber's mother. The fall came dangerously close to being fatal.
“The lady in yellow literally pushed her,” exclaimed a whistle-blowing watcher.
“The [woman in] yellow threw the elbow to move granny!” accused another as a separate commenter agreed, writing, “Nah she threw that woman.”
“The lady in the yellow had beef with grams,” another joked.
Huber reacted to suggestions that her grandmother's accident was a result of her mother's evil plan.
But first, she gave everyone reassurance that her grandmother was in fact OK.
“Grandma is fine,” said Huber.
“She’s still alive. She did not get hurt [and] she did not break any bones,” she continued. “It is honestly a miracle . . . She just bounced right up like nothing happened.”
Huber said that her mother was completely blameless in the situation.
“My mom and grandma have a great relationship,” she said. “I promise this wasn’t like 40 years [of bad blood] in the making, and she saw an opportunity for revenge.”
“We love grandma,” Huber assured in closing. “We don’t abuse her.”
