A man decided to don the Apple Vision Pro headset on his wedding day, a choice that didn't exactly thrill his bride.
The groom, named Jacob, tied the knot with his significant other earlier in the month.
He went on social media platform X to share snapshots from their memorable day.
The bride was radiant in her white gown adorned with puffed sleeves, and Jacob was equally striking in his suit and tie.
However, it wasn't their wedding outfits that sparked conversations online—it was Jacob's decision to wear the Apple Vision Pro.
Jacob captioned the photo with "#JustMarried," showing a picture where his new wife's face couldn't quite mask her bewilderment.
"That look of 'what have I done?' on her face is priceless," commented a user, capturing the sentiment in the photo.
"The bride's face says it all," another person chimed in. Jacob admitted in his response that getting his bride on board with the idea "took some convincing."
Comments ranged from playful to outright skeptical, with one saying, "Girl, run," and another humorously noting, "Congratulations you and the apple vision seem to make a great couple."
Despite the initial surprise and perhaps some reservations from his bride, she seemed to warm up to the idea.
Jacob later posted another picture showing the couple dancing joyfully, with him still sporting the headset.
He even shared a moment of him dancing with other guests, all while wearing the device.
While some criticized Jacob's choice to wear the Vision Pro on such an occasion, others saw it as an innovative idea.
"It's actually so sick that you'll have spatial videos from your wedding," a person praised the idea.
Jacob enthusiastically agreed, replying, "100% agree. Will be able to show them to my kids on their hologram devices in 10 years."
The Apple Vision Pro, priced at $3,499, boasts the capability to "capture 3D spatial photos and videos," per the Apple website.
These spatial photos and videos promise to transport you back to cherished moments, making it feel as if you're reliving them.
The Photos app consolidates all your spatial photos and videos, enhancing the viewing experience.
Considering these features, wearing the Vision Pro at your wedding might not be such a far-fetched idea, offering a unique way to revisit those special moments.
However, if the purpose was to sneakily watch YouTube videos, one might predict a less enthusiastic response from one's spouse.
Following the viral spread of his post, Jacob and his bride Cambree spoke with Futurism about the experience.
The couple clarified that Jacob chose not to wear the device during the actual ceremony, respecting both the sanctity of the occasion and his bride.
"I did not wear it in ceremony out of respect to God and to my wife," the software engineer explained.
However, the mood lightened during the photo sessions that followed.
"But after we got out [of the ceremony], we were taking photos - like the bridesmaids and the groomsmen and things - and just jokingly, I was like, 'Hey, I have my Apple Vision Pro in my backpack'."
Given the rising popularity of the Vision Pro, it's likely that Jacob won't be the last to incorporate such technology into wedding celebrations, marking a new trend in how couples capture and cherish their big day.
