In this situation, men and women are prone to react differently. Most men, will go ahead and fart, blaming it on their stomach's reaction to the food, then not making a big deal out of it. This causes the woman to not care. When women are put in this situation, they might try to hold it in for an obscene amount of time, because they're self-conscious of how their significant other may react.

Mic.com performed a survey with 129 people to see how long they waited to fart in front of their significant other.

#4 The Results

29% of people first fart in front of their significant other within 2-6 months of dating. 25.2% wait 6-12 months. 22.4% barely wait anytime and fart in front of their significant other within the first few weeks.

#5 Waiting Over A Year

A very small percentage, 9.3%, said they waited over a year before they were comfortable enough to fart in front of their significant other.

#6 Another Survey

There was another survey done which asked a similar question, except without a concrete timeframe.The question was: At what point in your relationship do you feel it's acceptable to fart?

#7 The Results

33% gave the answer: When we start having regular sleepovers. That was the most popular answer. This can be interpreted as when you're the most acquainted with a significant other. At this point you're comfortable and nothing as small as a fart is going to have a negative affect.
