Halle Berry 'Must Pay Ex $8,000 A Month' While Having Joint Custody As Divorce Is Finalized After 7 Years

After seven years of separation from Olivier Martinez, Halle Berry has finally finalized their divorce.

The 57-year-old actors wed in 2013 but divorced in 2016 after only three years of marriage. 

Their divorce, though, wasn't formalized until this month.

Despite having a prenuptial agreement in place before getting married, numerous problems with "custody and child support" apparently prevented the end of the process.

It has been stated that Halle will be required to pay Olivier $8,000 each month as well as share custody of their nine-year-old son, Maceo, as a result of their marriage's official dissolution.

The couple's seven-year divorce process, according to TMZ, was prolonged by "some unresolved issues on custody and child support" that caused the case to be delayed in court.

The publication, which claims to have seen the documents, reports that the two have now reached a formal agreement under which Halle will have "joint legal and physical custody of Maceo".

According to reports, Halle will also pay Olivier $8,000 each month, plus additional sums to cover Maceo's medical bills, therapy fees, and tuition.

The report claims that Halle will be responsible for Maceo from Monday to Wednesday and Olivier would be responsible for him from Wednesday to Friday. The couple will switch off weekends. 

If schools are closed, the schedule will also be modified.

According to the website, Halle reportedly has to pay up to 4.3 percent of any money she earns over $2 million in addition to the $8,000 monthly child support she will be paying her ex.

According to the website, Halle will pay for any therapy Maceo receives and will be able to attend sessions with him along with her daughter Nahla, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

Her new partner Van Hunt, however, will not be permitted to attend.

This month, the legal paperwork was sent to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, tying up the "remaining loose ends" on the problems.

When Halle and her ex-boyfriend Gabriel separated in 2010, she met Olivier on the Dark Tide set. In March 2012, they announced their engagement.

A year later, in July 2013, they were wed in France.

Three months after getting married, in October of the same year, Halle and Olivier also had a son.

Sadly, they made the decision to divorce two years later, stating in a joint statement at the time that they had "come to this decision with a heavy heart."
