#1 This Photo Was Taken By A Cruel Man

This photo was taken by a guy in Houston, Texas. He thought it would be funny to post it to Facebook and make fun of the dog's burns and ragged appearance.

#2 They Tracked Her Down

A woman from "Austin Pets Alive" posted the photo on a website called "Pawsitively Texas," which then led to the dog being found and rescued. The dog, who they named pumpkin, had been tortured, electrocuted and beaten before being left to die.

#3 Then They Discovered Something Else

Then the rescuers discovered something else. Pumpkin had a young puppy with her that she was taking care of.

#4 After Cleaning Them Up, They Rested Together

The two dogs were infested with fleas and severely malnourished, but they were cleaned up and healed. Then, they took a long rest together.

#5 The Puppy Didn't Make It

The most heartbreaking part of this story is that puppy died from its injuries and undernourishment. It was simply too young to handle that kind of abuse. Pumpkin, however, survived.

#6 She Was Adopted By Kelly Williams

After recovering from her injuries, Pumpkin was adopted by Kelly Williams. She finally had a proper, loving home.

This is Pumpkin today. What an amazing transformation. She is finally okay, and living a happy life.
