Heartbreaking Note Found On Collar Of Dog Wandering Alone

In a heartwrenching turn of events, a dog named Lilo was discovered wandering the streets alone in Tennessee. Thanks to the kindness of a Good Samaritan, Lilo was brought to the Mckamey Animal Center, where the staff quickly took her under their care.

However, the mystery surrounding Lilo's abandonment didn't remain a mystery for long. Alongside her leash, a note was found attached to Lilo's collar. It was a handwritten plea from her owner, detailing their unfortunate circumstances:

"My name is Lilo. Please love me. My mom can't keep me and is homeless with 2 kids. She tried her best but can't get help. I cost too much for her. She really loves me & I'm a great dog & love to be loved on. Please don't abuse me."

While Lilo found herself in good hands at the animal center, the staff couldn't help but be moved by the heartfelt note from her mother. 

In response, they decided to reach out to her through an online post: "We deeply empathize with the difficult decision you had to make in leaving [Lilo] behind. We understand that many people are struggling to care for their pets in these challenging times. We can only imagine the pain of giving up a beloved pet because you're unable to provide the necessary care."

"We want you to know that she is safe with us, receiving the best care possible. We will ensure she is loved by our dedicated staff and volunteers, keeping her name and doing everything we can to find her a wonderful new home. If you come across this message, we encourage you to reclaim her." 

"We are here to assist you in any way we can to help care for her. Lilo misses you, and we would be overjoyed to see her reunited with the family she loves. But regardless of your decision, please know that we understand, we won't judge, and we're here to help."

Within a few days of posting this heartfelt plea, the animal center received a response from Lilo's mother. She had been located and was invited to reconnect with her beloved pup.

With any luck, Lilo's mother will soon regain stability in her life and provide the care and love that Lilo deserves. Unfortunately, she is not the only pet owner facing such challenges while experiencing homelessness.

Meanwhile, the caretakers at the Mckamey Animal Center are determined to prevent other pets from enduring the same fate as Lilo. They emphasize that abandoning an animal is not only illegal but should never be the only option.
