A tattooed couple claims they have 'neighbors from hell' who are targeting them because of their appearance and beliefs.

Annie and Paul Riggs, 52 and 49 years old, claim life in Chatham, Kent, is a 'living hell' because locals make them feel unwanted.

The pair, who owns a tattoo parlor, claim to have awakened to find 'Get out' graffiti on their wall and a letter advising them to leave.

Despite living in the house since 2004, Annie claims that the violence has been going on for years and that they have had to go to the police because of their tattoos, piercings, and beliefs.

She said: "I have lived in the property for 17 years and I intend on staying."

"We are constantly being tormented.”

"Some sort of hate campaign has been launched and they are determined to make us leave.”

"We haven't done anything wrong so we aren't going to be bullied out of the cul de sac because of our appearance.”

"They have blocked our cars in and let our tires down.”

"They often play loud music so we can't hear ourselves think.”

"I think they are jealous because we can be who we want to be."

Annie and Paul claim that their garden is being used as an ashtray and that they had to rush their dog to the vet to get his stomach pumped after he ate cigarette tips, which cost them £500 ($697).

Paul said: "We don't experience hatred or discrimination anywhere else - just on our street.

"We meet people of all ages and backgrounds at work and they accept us for who we are.”

"But on our street, it is something else.”

"Everyone believes we worship the devil - but we don't.”

"Annie practices witchcraft and does psychic readings.

"But that's none of their business.”

"We want an easy life and to be left alone."

Paul, who has 95 percent of his body covered in tattoos, says that his 12-year-old son Scott is being scared by the 'intimidating' anti-social conduct and that he has to barricade their front door.

He added: "Our son is terrified and asks me to put something up the door of a night to ensure nobody can get in.”

"I have caught a woman urinating outside our property. It is completely unfair."

Annie and Paul have been in touch with Kent Police regularly, and they have issued warnings.

A spokesperson said: "Kent Police is investigating a report that criminal damage was caused to a property in Dagmar Road, Chatham, at around 3.10 pm on Tuesday 20 April.

"A threatening letter is also reported to have been sent to the same address."
