Despite the fact Doc Brown and Marty got our hopes up for what 2015 would be like with hoverboards and flying cars for in Back to the Future II, technology these days is absolutely off the walls, blow my balls incredible. It's actually quite overwhelming to think how far technology and science has come since, say, 1916.

And unless I can survive long enough to have my thoughts and cognitive reasoning transferred into a computer, the chances are, I'm going to be worm food by the time the year 2116 rolls around. However, Samsung have made several predictions of what life on and off of Earth will be like in 100 years time, and they're truly awe inspiring.

Your future generations will be able to experience this incredible lifestyle, so, let's just reflect on what your grandchildren could be enjoying in 100 years time;

Drones that transport people and entire homes to glorious holiday destinations:

Underwater cities that can actually use the seawater to create a liveable environment:

You may shake your head at these predictions and think that they're nothing but sci-fi nonsense,

Space scientist, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, who also co-authored the report for SmartThings, revealed;

"Our lives today are almost unrecognisable from those a century ago. Just ten years ago, technology like SmartThings would have been inconceivable, yet today developments like this let us monitor, control and secure our living spaces with the touch of a smartphone. Over the next century we will see further seismic shifts in the way we live and interact with our surroundings."

The human race have always endeavoured to "improve" our current living and working environments, making comfort, health and efficiency the ultimate goals and it seems we're approaching somewhat of a utopia.

Just think though, one of those flying drones will probably cost as much as the very first Playstation, and a ticket to the moon is probably going to be cheaper than a train ticket from Bristol to London.

This right here is the world I want to be living in.
