#5 David Considers Himself Lucky That The Thieves Chickened Out Early

Realizing the situation, David jumped into action, "I grabbed the first couple [of robbers] I could - it turned into a brawl and a battle. I just grabbed what I could and hit them with aftershave bottles and chairs." David was repeatedly hit on the head by the sharp objects that the thieves brought with them but he didn't quit for once and continued to fight them. All through his fight, there was only one thought going on in his mind and that was to reach to his son's room.

David considers himself lucky as the thieves ran away halfway through the fight, otherwise, the situation could have turned out dangerous, had they stayed any longer, "We could only assume they saw that and thought, 'we have gone too far' and got out of here. They must have thought they half-killed me. In retrospect, we were probably quite lucky."
