#1 John Fanning is an English teacher at Whitney M. Young High School in Chicago, Illinois.

On the last day of school, a group of highly energetic students formed a circle on the second floor of the school. Why? They were going to have a dance battle, and they wanted to challenge the teachers.

In the video below, students first corner a teacher in the doorway of her classroom. Standing in front of her door, a student begins to dance quickly in front of her, but unfortunately, she declines the invitation to a dance-off. Just when they thought no teacher would want to accept the challenge, up steps Fanning.

This English teacher stands in the center of the circle and quickly moves his feet in a fashion that will mesmerize you. Sure, his dance the Irish jog might not be a modern style, but he sure does it well. Even the students can't contain themselves when they see Fanning's skills!

On an interview with Good Morning America, Fanning says, "Like every other kid who grew up in Rogers Park in the ‘70s and ‘80s, I went to dance classes after church."
