Two terrified staff members were stood nearby the museum shop when they notices that several leaflets had fallen from the shelf at the Torquay Museum, Devon.

When museum researcher David Wills went to investigate what had happened another pile of paper was inexplicably dumped on his head.

Carl Smith, the museum's visitor services manager, said: "When my colleague David told me about the incident, I have to say that I was sceptical.
"But when we watched the CCTV footage back there was something very unnatural about how the leaflets came off the shelf.

It is not the first incident to have happened at the museum in recent years.
