This is a story about a heartless man from New Mexico. Santa Fe police are looking for information on this person who abandoned his dog at a Dunkin Donuts on Cerrillos Road. While most people who abandon their pets do it without repercussion, the authorities are hoping to catch this guy.

The store's surveillance footage shows the man pulling up in a dark Chevy van. The guy can be seen opening his door and letting the dog out with a note attached to her collar. He can also be seen going inside Dunkin' Donuts and placing an order. The confused dog can be seen following the man to the front door of the place while he simply ignored her.

The man returned to his vehicle leaving the dog behind. Staff at Dunkin' Donuts alerted the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society about the abandoned pup. When they came to pick her up, she had a sad note attached to her collar.

The note simply said, "I'm free. I'm having babies." The shelter that took her in says that she is doing well on a post that they shared on their Facebook page. They are not sure whether she is pregnant or not, but they say that she is a fun, loving dog who even did really well in a playgroup.

Commenters on the Facebook post from the shelter did not go easy on the guy who dumped this precious furbaby. One commenter said, "Dogs are a lifelong commitment. Don't get a dog if you can't make that commitment. It's just that simple." Another commenter also noted, "If she is having puppies, it's because you didn't do your job as a responsible pet owner and have her spayed. She deserves better than you, and will no doubt find that one day thanks to the exposure of this article. Enjoy your dog free life, you worthless shell of a human." We could not agree more!

If you have any information about the individual who dumped her, please contact Santa Fe animal control at 505-955-2708, or call anonymously via Crime Stoppers, at 505-955-5050.
