The Ascension interrupts comedy match for own follies

It was tough enough seeing Damien Sandow once again do his Randy Savage spoof as "Macho Mandow" against Curtis Axel on the May 11 edition of "Raw." Even tougher was seeing The Ascension interrupting the match to insult them, claiming that this was the "dawning of the age of destruction." Instead, they were tossed out of the ring like yesterday's garbage in a time-filling segment that further buried the tag-team.

Anonymous Raw General Manager

"May I have your attention, please? I have just received an e-mail from the anonymous Raw general manager...and I quote:"

Those words made wrestling fans cringe for several months before the idea of a talking computer was finally scrapped.

MexAmerica is born

When Alberto Del Rio made his unannounced return at "Hell in a Cell," it was curious that he had Zeb Colter by his side as he beat John Cena for the U.S. Title. Remember, he previously ranted against foreign stars while aligned with the "All-American American" Jack Swagger. The next night, the pair formed MexAmerica, which was supposed to be a new country involving the United States and Mexico. The whole concept fell flat and the pairing never made sense, leading to its breakup weeks later.

Vince McMahon Tells Bret Hart: 'You Deserve to Be Screwed'

One of the biggest storylines (and real-life incidents) in wrestling history was Bret Hart being screwed out of the WWE Championship at the 1997 Survivor Series (aka "The Montreal Screw Job").

It would be another 13 years before Hart would return to a WWE ring, but he finally showed up on Raw on Jan. 4, 2010.

A bittersweet moment seeing good guy and big-time talent Sami Zayn finally making his WWE debut as he was set to face John Cena for the U.S. Title. But in all of the excitement as he entered the ring, Zayn furiously waved his arms in the air and tore the rotator cuff in his left shoulder. While he would somehow still have a fantastic match, he needed surgery that would sideline him for the bulk of the year.

Not only did he guarantee Rick that Scott would be victorious at Halloween Havoc, but he expressed general admiration for Scott along with a desire to cast him in his next film. Rick, not one to be intimidated by man or puppet, challenged Chucky to come down to the ring and fight him, man to man.

Reid Flair used in a storyline

In an effort to make the upcoming Survivor Series championship match between Charlotte and Paige more emotionally charged, WWE decided it needed to get personal between the women. During their contract signing on "Raw," Paige crudely brought up Charlotte's little brother, saying he "didn't have much fight in him" since he passed away two years ago from a drug overdose.

Scott Hall’s Demons

Scott Hall has always been one of professional wrestling's saddest stories. A talented grappler in the 1980s, he was brought to WWE in 1992 with the Scarface-inspired gimmick of Razor Ramon. However, Hall's battles with drugs and alcohol hampered his career throughout the 90s.

Not even The Rock can save Roman Reigns

WWE knew it would be a tough sell having Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble, earning the championship match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. So they called upon The Rock, who just happened to be Reigns' cousin, to be out there for the big moment. Even The People's Champion couldn't stop the Philadelphia crowd from hating the decision, showering both Reigns and a puzzled Rock with boos.

The Chris Benoit Tribute Episode

Sometimes, mistakes can be a simple case of jumping the gun before all the facts are known.

In 2007, Chris Benoit was found dead in suburban Atlanta along with his wife and son. At the time Raw went on the air, it was assumed that Benoit and his family had been murdered and a three-hour episode was a tribute to Benoit. There was just one problem. The WWE found out within the next 24 hours that Benoit was not the victim, but the murderer in a double-murder suicide.

Terry Funk Is Kicked By A Horse
