A pair of identical twins who had been separated at birth made a surprising discovery when they met for the first time after 30 years.

Zhang Li and Cheng Keke, both from Henan, China, came across each other on social media by chance in 2021. They instantly noticed they looked almost identical.

The two began talking and quickly realized they shared many similarities beyond just their appearance.

Eventually, they decided to take a DNA test, which confirmed that they were indeed twins.

Li and Keke's families then revealed that the sisters had been separated right after birth.

When the twins shared their story online, it quickly went viral, with many fascinated by how they instantly felt a deep connection with one another.

Seeing a chance to build on their newfound fame, the sisters decided to start an e-commerce business and work together.

However, their time working side by side was filled with frequent arguments and disagreements, which eventually led to their partnership lasting only three years.

Keke, the slightly younger twin, explained that whenever they live-streamed to promote their products, Li would often leave without any explanation, sometimes vanishing for two or three days at a time.

Keke said: "She never said anything when she left, and I could never find her. That's not the kind of work attitude I like."

Things escalated when Li secretly moved all their shared items out of their rental apartment while Keke was away, causing a major fight between them.

Although they managed to resolve that issue, tensions between the sisters continued to build.

Keke claims she always had to cover their rent, meals, and other daily expenses whenever they traveled for live-streaming events.

She said this was despite Li's promise that they would split all costs evenly.

Li, however, saw things differently. She felt their personalities clashed—she described herself as straightforward, while Keke, she said, would often stay silent and give her the 'cold shoulder'.

Li also blamed Keke for the failure of several of their live-streaming projects, claiming they lost as much as CNY 600,000 (£65,000) over the years.

She said: "So I told her directly that I wouldn't be doing live-streaming with her anymore."

Following their live-streaming struggles, Li decided to open a physical shop in her hometown of Dengfeng.

Keke went there to show her support, but their relationship deteriorated during an argument over the shop’s management and the money each had invested.

The sisters, who had once been separated and then reunited, found themselves divided once more after another work-related dispute in January 2023.

Li reportedly had an outburst during which she yelled at Keke. Although she later regretted it, Keke couldn't bring herself to forgive her and never returned.

Since that day, the sisters have not seen each other, and they have not spoken for over six months.
