Jay Cox the cruise operator said:

We had passengers from Perth, Melbourne and Sydney they said it was the most amazing thing they'd ever seen in their life.

We went round for two hours right up close and personal you could reach over and touch them (the sharks). They were very docile and very well fed, we counted around 70 tiger sharks of all shapes and sizes. Some of them were up to six metres long.

The whale appears to be close to fifteen metres long and could weigh about 36,000 kilograms. The reason for the death of the whale is quite unclear. They are yet to determine whether it was killed by the sharks or if it died of natural causes.

Tiger sharks are known to be responsible for a major percentage of fatal attacks on humans and eat anything they get. They can grow up to six-and-a-half metres long and weigh about 520 kilograms.
